Post-human activity in the RSA- Arthur Hall 24107744

Arthur Hall 24107744

Suppose the world’s population was shrunk to a village of 100 people and the same population, wealth, sex, education and religion ratios that exists in the worlds population of more than 5 billion are kept. In conducting a discussion on post-human let us keep the following figures in mind form the above projection:
Six of the people from the village would have almost 60% of the villages wealth, and they would all be American.
70 of the people would be unable to read
80 would live in sub-standard housing
50 would suffer from malnutrition
And if you don’t follow my line of argument just yet…:
5. One would have a tertiary education and only one (probably the same person) would own a PC.
South Africa is already considered a third-world country, albeit one of the ones considered as being closest to the first world. However, with high rates of unemployment, diseases of pandemic proportion, and a huge gap between the haves and have-nots, it would be one of Michael Jackson’s Neverneverland dreams to strive towards immorality in South Africa. The vast majority of virtual theory and technology has its origins in the United States- a country where unemployment was 5% in 2005 and decreasing, and where a stable and reliable health system is in place.
From this its is certainly clear that if South Africa has its priorities in the right order, post-human activities is a issue that lies very far into the future of South Africa.
Post-human theory cannot exist without computer inspired technology. Computers in itself is a far-off reality for most South Africans. Just drive by the nearest traffic light, and behold the masses storming your car for work or that donation.
Besides- are you going to carry a battery-pack to supply power to your mechanical third arm?
